The Greenwich Choral Society has defined excellence in choral music since 1925, performing great choral works both locally and internationally. We create good music because we work hard, and we have fun as well.
Our season runs from September to mid-May with a 5-week break after our December concert. We typically perform three unique concerts in early December, March and May. Choristers are expected to sing all concerts unless excused for good reason.
Rehearsals begin in September Daniels Center, basement, First Congregational Church,108 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT on Tuesdays from 7:45 to 10:00 PM. If absent from these mandatory rehearsals, they can be made up during typically two Saturday morning rehearsals per month. Many choristers attend all rehearsals to work through difficult music and improve their skills. Two or three mandatory dress rehearsals are scheduled shortly before the concert.

Fees: Annual dues are $150 plus a variable music fee. Both fees are due by no later than October 15. If this fee schedule presents a problem for you, please speak with the GCS Music Librarian to arrange a payment plan.
GCS has only three paid staff; our Music Director, Accompanist and General Manager. We have managed to balance our budget each year with the help of individual member dues (8%), chorister contributions and matching gifts (16%), non-chorister and matching gifts (15%) ticket sales (26%), grants (16%), annual benefit (5%) (not every year), and other miscellaneous income. These percentages are only an average, but they stress the importance of ticket sales and the increasing need for individual gifts when possible. We often receive donations from 100% of choristers, a figure that supports our grant applications. GCS is a not-for-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) cultural organization.
